Aura Soft 4K & 2.5K

The OpTex Aurasoft delivers a truly natural soft light where you want it, when you want it and at the power level and color temperature you need. And, being a direct light, there are no diffusers, no reflectors – NO SECONDARY SHADOWS! Whether you’re shooting Film, Video or Stills, in the studio or on location, Aurasoft will deliver an astonishingly even, virtually shadowless, soft natural light of stunning quality across an exceptionally large area.

All these remarkable operational benefits are due to the unique, innovative and patented reflector design. Aurasoft’s superb quality of light is no accident. The reflector consists of thousands of tiny, individual spheroidal convex mirrors. Each mirror reflects angled beams of light that crisscross one another, reducing the directness and producing an effect of softness never before achieved. Moire patterning is avoided by varying the mirror size and position. The reflector is mounted in an all new, extremely robust housing designed to stand up to the rigors of film and video location use and is equally well suited to studio shoots.

Interchangeable HMI and Tungsten lampheads make color temperature changes a simple procedure. All lampheads are dimmable. HMI is compatible with most ballasts available from a wide range of manufacturers.

The Aurasoft 600 is available with a 3K Tungsten, 1.2K HMI or 2.5K HMI lamphead.

The Xenotech Britelight 7000 portable system is the brightest portable searchlight system of it’s size available anywhere in the world. This specialized three-phase searchlight system is designed to withstand the rigors of daily use in motion picture production, rental, and other high demand searchlight applications, the Xenotech Britelight 4000 portable system is a specialized high-wattage searchlight system.

The lamp head optical system utilizes a unique 7000 watt short-arc xenon lamp and a high efficiency short focal length electroformed parabolic reflector to produce the most intense beam of collimated, daylight-balanced light available.
The optical system also incorporates a motorized focus mechanism that allows the beam angle to be adjusted from the lamp head, ballast, or from a remote location when using the optional remote control system. Power control switches located on the rear of the lamp head allow the lamp to be ignited and extinguished at the lamp head as well as the ballast and in remote control locations.

The lamp head cooling system utilizes redundant high-volume, low-velocity blowers to achieve a level of cooling performance far in excess of any comparable system. This level of cooling allows the lamp head to be used in the most demanding temperatures without fear of failure. In addition to its cooling efficiency the cooling system incorporates extensive sound absorbing, vibration dampening, and baffling to minimize the cooling system sound level.

The new Xenotech high-current globe interface allows the globe to be serviced or replaced from the front of the lamp head with just the removal of the front lens holder. The lamp head yoke terminates in a standard 1-1/8″ pin, allowing the use of all stands, hanging, and mounting devices configured for this size pin.

The Britelight 7000 lamp head is safety listed as “suitable of wet locations” by ETL

Kino Wall-O-Lite

Kino Wall-O-Lite

The Kino Flo Wall-o-Lite uses 10 – 4ft T12 True Match tubes making it an ideal softlight source for filming on location. It can be safely plugged into wall outlets because it operates at 1/4 the power of comparable tungsten softlights. And, with a narrow profile, the Flo Wall-o-Lite fixture approximates the quality of light from bounced sources. As a comparison, one fixture can put out as much light as a 2.5K HMI fresnel bounced off white foam core, yet with its narrow profile it can be backed up to a wall with a minimal loss of set space. The Wall-o-Lite is as flexible and easy to manipulate as a bounce card on a grip stand.

Kino Flo Image 87 DMX

The Image 87 DMX fixture’s large soft light coverage and its small, energy footprint at only 4.8A 120VAC, combined with the ease of rigging compared to tungsten lighting sources makes it the darling of motion picture and television visual effects designers.

The relatively cool source takes about six different colored visual effects lighting colors, but most notably the specialized Kino Flo spiked blue and spiked green tubes for deep, rich saturation of color when lighting blue and green colored cyclorama stages.

Its smaller sibling, the Image 47 DMX, produces the same quality of light, with the same light control and beam spread features, but uses half the energy. The Image 47 works ideally on bluescreen and greenscreen stages that are no more than 15 feet in height.

Arri L7C

Daily $

Arri L7C

The Silver/Blue, Manual Mount L7-C LE2 Color LED Fresnel is part of ARRI‘s continuing effort to replace traditional Fresnels with powerful LED versions that offer unprecedented color control. The L7-C LE2 shares many characteristics with its predecessor, but the most obvious improvement is a 25% boost in power, increasing the light’s tungsten equivalency from 750W to 1000W. This stand/manual mount version has a yoke with a 1-1/8″ Junior pin.

The key characteristic of any Fresnel is flood-to-spot capability, and the L7-C LE2 meets and exceeds expectations with an impressive beam angle of 15-50°. There’s no learning curve when swapping out L7-C LE2 fixtures for fixtures with standard Fresnels. In fact, you’re not going to be moving them around or juggling scrims in high places thanks to the 100 – 0% on-board dimming.

The L7-C LE2 is a “fully tune-able” white light source too, allowing you to match existing fixtures from a warm 2800K to ice-blue 10,000K. The on-board controller allows manual intensity control as well as color temperature and +/- green. Specific color shades and skin tones can be matched through the full gamut color mixing feature. All functions can be controlled via DMX, an ideal feature for broadcast studios. The hybrid cooling system allows for cooling both actively (with a fan) or passively (without a fan) for times when the set needs to be dead quiet. The L7-C LE2’s 1000W equivalent output draws only 160W during normal operation, making possible a savings of a 75% over similar output tungsten lights. And low heat means lower AC bills in the studio. You can actually run 9x L7-C LE2’s from a 20A, 120VAC outlet as opposed to two 1000W or three 650W standard fixtures.

Attributes and Benefits
  • L7-C LE2s with Light Engine 2 are 25% brighter than previous versions
  • Fully tuneable from 2800 – 10,000K

Kino Select LED 30 DMX

Daily $

Kino Select LED 30 DMX

Kino Flo’s Select LED 30 and 20 DMX systems were launched with great success in June 2016. Lighting crews embraced the remote LED controller and the light-weight fixture that allow for rigging flexibility. In addition, users welcomed the ability to dim without color shift, dial in Kelvin temperatures, and select Green/Magenta settings using on-board controls or DMX lighting consoles. But, there was also a built-in secret.

Kino Flo launched the Select LED system as a white light source with Green/Magenta selection. Kino Flo used an RGB emitter to control the Green/Magenta color, but we knew that the RGB feature could do more. We just needed to sort out a menu system that would be as intuitive when using the controller manually as when using it on DMX.

The solution was to have a second menu option. Those who prefer to work with white light can use the “white menu” that gives the user access to Dimming, Kelvin and Green/Magenta control channels.

Those who want additional features can switch over to the new “color menu”. In the color menu, the Kelvin range travels from 2500K tungsten to 9900K daylight, and Kino Flo has set up a fourth channel called Gels. The Gel channel includes Kino Flo colors to match Candle Flame, Warm White, Cool White, Sodium Vapor, Mercury Vapor, 20K Blue Sky, Green Screen and Blue screen.
In addition, there is a range of gels that can be applied to any Kelvin setting. Simply scroll through the menu to choose up to
105 well-known lighting gels.

In the color menu there is also a fifth channel called Hue Angle and sixth channel, Saturation. These two channels behave
similar to a traditional color wheel, where you have white light in the center, the Hue angle determines the color along a
360-degree range, and Saturation determines how much color is applied. For example, if a user wants to review the choices,
they can set Saturation to 100% and scroll through 360-degrees of color to choose the desired hue, and adjust the Saturation to their liking. Reducing the saturation to “0” will take the settings back to white light.

Kino Flo Celeb 200

The Celeb LED boasts technical innovations that make it an ideal professional imaging tool: a dial-in variable color temperature control, full-range dimming and programmable 2700K to 6500K presets. The Celeb LED’s 100 Watts of soft, lustrous white light doesn’t flicker or shift color temperature when dimmed. With the use of a Lumen Radio transmitter (sold separately), the Celeb LED 201 can be operated DMX wirelessly as an alternative to DMX cables.

The trim, lightweight fixture operates on universal AC power, 100VAC-240VAC, and needs only less than one amp to produce more lumens than a 750W tungsten soft light. The Celeb LED 201 can also be powered by 24VDC battery. The Celeb LED’s cost savings from low energy and long lamp life continues Kino Flo’s reputation as an environmentally friendly lighting company.

The Celeb LED 201 comes complete with 360 degree mounting, molded accessory holders, removable gel frame and focusing louver.

The new LiteMat+ Plus series of LED light fixtures is the ideal luminaire for set lighting and rental company inventories. LiteMat+ Plus incorporates everything you love about LiteMat, features the new CineMitter, and adds some distinctly new features.  The most notable change is the PL7 locking connection system, which happens to be the same for every size of LiteMat+ Plus and the new LiteDimmer+ Plus series of dimmers with built-in camera battery mounts. Available in 5 sizes, LiteMat remains one of the most affordable, professional cinema lighting fixtures available today.

LiteGear officially unveils the new CineMitter series of applied-phosphor LEDs. Exclusive to LiteGear, these new emitters set the standard for cinematic, color-correct LED lighting. Efficient and full-spectrum, these LED chips offer state-of-the-art output with a 40% increase in brightness over VHO Pro. Another distinct feature of the CineMitter is the extended Kelvin range. LiteGear pushed the lower CCT to 2600 degrees Kelvin (K) allowing for candlelight or deep-tungsten output while increasing the CRI to a staggering 95+ — that’s nearly indistinguishable from traditional incandescent sources! On the cool side, the CCT was pushed up to 6200K to better balance for overcast sky or cool white fluorescents. This increase in CCT still achieves a CRI of 95+ and provides beautiful, full-spectrum daylight.

A firmware update adds a Lighting Effects Mode that includes TV simulation, hue burst, paparazzi, strobe, fire, squares, fireworks, emergency lights, pulse and party lights. The light has a CRI/TLCI rating of 97 for daylight balance and 99 for tungsten balance, indicating a very accurate rendition of color. The Gemini is dimmable from 100 to 0% without flicker or color shift. Settings and features are displayed on the rear LCD screen.

All of these adjustments can be made locally on the unit or remotely via a console, thanks to the Gemini’s built in DMX. There’s even the option of wireless DMX or Bluetooth control via a separately purchased remote module. The Gemini is ready for worldwide use, thanks to its built in 100 to 240 VAC power supply but it can also run on batteries when power is unavailable.

The Gemini has a number of convenience features, such as the ability to stack and gang several lights together with an optional yoke and hardware. You can also daisy-chain multiple lights together in Master/Slave mode, allowing a single designated “Master” light to control the others. This version of the Gemini ships with a standard yoke and a US power cable.

Westscott Ice Light

The Westcott Ice Light 2 LED light is an enhanced version of its predecessor built on the wish lists of photographers in the field. As their first order of business, Westcott made the light 50% brighter while maintaining its 21.6 x 7.5″ form factor and rendering color-accurate output with a very high CRI of 96. Ten-step dimming is accessed via the unit’s handle which has a built-in digital display. The light also has a USB port and built-in Bluetooth technology for future wireless control. For videographers, Westcott has doubled their efforts to produce a truly flicker-free fixture.

A removable Lithium-ion battery is yet another Ice Light 2 refinement. A 2.5-hour charge gives you 60+ minutes of runtime with the convenience of being able to charge a backup battery outside of the fixture. You can also double your runtime by attaching an optional power pack battery extension. It uses the same charger as the Ice Light 2. Like Its predecessor, the Ice Light 2 is virtually heat-free. Hold it as close as you want to your subject; the closer you get the more Ice Light’s wrap-around quality of light becomes evident. Since it’s virtually heat-free you never have to worry about injuring the talent or damaging the set.

While the ergonomic shape easily lends itself to handheld operation, the Ice Light 2 has a 1/4″-20 tap at each end of it for mounting it to a light stand or other accessory. The Ice Light 2 comes with gel clips, a tungsten-balanced gel filter, 2-way connector, a battery, 100-240 VAC power supply/charger, car charger, cord storage bag and a carry case with shoulder and belt straps.

Arri M18

Arri M18

The M18 combines MAX Technology, True Blue features and a new 1800 W lamp. The result is an exciting new class of HMI that can be powered from most domestic sockets. It is as small as a 1200 W PAR lamphead but with 70% higher light output. Adjustable from 20° to 60° beam angle, the M18 can also be used with 1200 W lamps.

Arri M40

Arri M40

Like all members of the M-Series, the M40 unifies the advantages of a PAR light and a Fresnel fixture. Due to the unique lens-less MAX Technology, the unit is open face and thus very bright, but also focussable over a range of 18 to 52° HPA (Half Peak Angle), casting a crisp shadow. The reflector characteristics is optimised for 4000 W lamps, but can also be used with 2500 W lamps.

The lamphead is equipped with a CCL module (compensation for cable loss). When operated with the ARRI EB 2.5/4 with CCL, full power is maintained all the way to the lamp even when very long cables are used. This means uniformly high light output independent from cable length.

Arri M90

Arri M90

To close the gap between the M40 and the ARRIMAX 18/12, the M90 introduces a new power class of 9,000 W. The unit is open-faced and very bright; it is also focusable from 16° up to 49°, producing a remarkably even light field and a crisp, clear shadow. ARRI technology partner Osram developed a new 9,000 W lamp for the M90, which is stable at 1,000 Hz and almost as small as the 6,000 W lamp that can alternatively be used. This allowed ARRI to design the M90 in a very compact housing, barely larger than the ARRISUN 60.

Accompanying the M90 is a new ballast, the EB 6/9, available in standard and high speed versions. Like other recent ballasts from ARRI, it features CCL (Compensation for Cable Loss) technology and the power-saving ALF (Active Line Filter). The EB 6/9 is DMX compatible and no bigger than ARRI’s existing EB 6000 Baby ballast. ETL certified versions of EB 6/9 are available.

ARRIMAX 18K / 12K

Daily $

ARRIMAX 18K / 12K

The original Academy Award-winning ARRIMAX remains the ultimate choice for productions requiring maximum light output. The 580 mm (22.83”) diameter, parabolic facetted reflector provides continuous focus adjustment from 15° to 50° beam angle and, since the ARRIMAX does not require a set of spread lenses, shadows are sharp and easily cut.

18,000W Single Ended lamps use a sturdier GX51 lamp base for which ARRI engineers have designed a special lampholder. This new lampholder alleviates mechanical stress from the lamp pins, which now serve only as an electrical connection. The lamp clamping mechanism is self-aligning and uses a rugged, recessed lamp lock handle. To ensure that crews can easily use 12,000 W lamps or versions of 18 K Single Ended lamps with G38 bases, the new lampholder accepts either lamp type with no modification or adjustment required.

Having a “Big Gun” like this LTM Daylight 18K HMI fresnel light (with its 20-inch lens) in your lighting arsenal gives you the ability to produce a tremendous amount of light from one lighting source– whether used as a daytime fill source or for large nighttime setups.  A large, powerful, single light source also eliminates the need to combine multiple light sources which eliminates the multiple shadow problem created by combining sources.

Joleko 400 & 800 (Bug-A-Beam)

Joleko 400 & 800 (Bug-A-Beam)

The K 5600 BUG-LIGHT design offers so many possibilities it is tempting to ‘stick it’ in almost any optical system one runs across. One obvious and popular device is the ETC Source-4. This elegant design of a pattern and Gobo projector has showed up in various applications and is widely accepted throughout the entertainment industry.

The BUG-A-BEAM Adaptor is the part that makes the mating of a Source-4 and our Bug-Light 400 or 800 not only possible but quick and easy. The 400 (or 800) MSR/HMI lamp offers many advantages in this particular application, its 6 mm arc gap is punctual enough and very well suited for such optical design. The 4 to 1 efficiency ratio of HMI versus Tungsten incandescent explains the two full stops gain.

This huge increase in light level allows patterns to be visible in higher ambient light levels, longer distances as well as through the deepest color gels. K 5600 is continuously looking at expanding and promoting the use of its products and HMI in general for location work. The JOKER-BUG program equips the image-maker with a very versatile tool: a PAR fixture for directional lighting, a BUG for soft and lantern lights, a SOFTUBE for linear soft sources and now with the BUGABEAM Adaptor for a controllable high intensity beam projector.

Joker Bug 400 & 800 Par

Joker Bug 400 & 800 Par

400

The Joker-Bug 400 combines the characteristics of the BUG-LITE 400, a 400 Watt daylight HMI system without optics, with those of the JOKER 400, a PAR 46 fixture using a specular parabolic reflector and a set of 4 lenses. The JOKER-BUG 400 is comparable to a 1500/2000Wquartz fixture but with a power draw of only 5.5 Amps.

In the Bug-Lite mode (no optics) the main application is in traditional Lightbanks as well as Lanterns where it uses the sides as a large reflector, collecting the maximum output of the lamp and filling the front screen very evenly. It is very powerful in daylight interiors and can operate in any position including pointing straight down.

The BEAMER optical accessory turns the BUG-LITE into a JOKER-BUG, a directional PAR unit offering various beam patterns through quick lens changes. The JOKER-BUG 400 offers the most flexible optical configuration for location lighting by achieving Spot to Flood ratios of 80 to 1 with beam angles from as narrow as 5 degrees to as wide as 55 degrees.

The JOKER-BUG 400 is delivered with a Clear Glass Beaker when reaching for full intensity is important, and a Frosted Glass Beaker when light quality is the prime concern. The 400W MSR lamp was selected for its size/weight and the sizes/weights of the
components needed to operate it. The MSR lamp with its GZZ 9.5 base is considerably smaller than the next traditional Wattage, the 575 (G22 base); this in turn allows for more compact and shorter fixture design. The shorter arc gap of the 400 makes up for the difference of output between 400 and 575 and the lower Wattage does not require forced air cooling of the power supply.

The small, quiet ballast can be hidden anywhere and plugs in any circuit without risk of overloading. With the Slimverter 400 and two 30 volt batteries, the JOKER-BUG 400 is the largest 30 volt battery powered HMI. Motion Picture Gaffers and Freelance Cameramen have adopted the JOKER-BUG 400 for fine daylight interiors, car shots, two camera interviews, TV magazines, documentaries and industrials.

800

MORE OUTPUT
Because of the increasing use of Chimera® Lightbanks for fine daylight interiors, two camera interviews, TV magazines, and documentaries, we designed this fixture to take full advantage of the large reflective material inside a Lightbank. Utilizing our BUG™ “bare-bulb” design we can produce an amazing 50% more output than a JOKER 1200!

READY TO FLY
The JOKER-BUG 800 fits in one tiny airline case, weighing only 38lbs. The next wattage up (1200) is twice the size and weight. The actual size of the kit is exactly the same as a JOKER-BUG 400 Kit!

LOCATION FRIENDLY
When working in practical locations such as homes, offices or business, power consumption is a key factor. The JOKER-BUG 800 will produce as much output as a 4,000 Watt quartz fixture with the power draw of only 11 Amps, never risk overloading a circuit again! The next size up (1200) monopolizes an entire circuit whereas the JOKER-BUG 800 will allow for another source such as a JOKER-BUG 400 on the same circuit!
